Παγκόσμια Ημέρα για την Εξάλειψη της Ενδο-οικογενειακής Βίας κατά των Ανδρών - International Day for the Elimination of Domestic Violence Against Men

Ο ΣΥΓΑΠΑ (Σύλλογος για την ανδρική και πατρική αξιοπρέπεια www.sos-sygapa.eu), ως φορέας υπεράσπισης των δικαιωμάτων του Πατέρα στην Ελλάδα και ως μέλος του Παγκοσμίου κινήματος ενάντια στην κακοποίηση παιδιών και γονέων μέσα στην Οικογένεια,  αποφάσισε να ηγηθεί στη Διεθνή προσπάθεια για την καθιέρωση της 12ης Ιανουαρίου, ως παγκόσμιας ημέρας για την εξάλειψη της Ενδο-οικογενειακής Βίας κατά των Ανδρών.

Στις 8 Δεκεμβρίου του 2007 δημοσιεύσαμε το παρακάτω κείμενο που προιδέαζε το κλίμα για την βία και την άνιση αντιμετώπιση που βασίζεται καθαρά στο χρήμα που διοχετεύεται σε φεμινιστικές οργανώσεις και το οποίο οικειοποιούνται τα κράτη και τα κόμματα αδιαφορώντας για το αποτέλεσμα που βάζει όλους τους άνδρες στην ίδια ιδιότητα του κακού και όλες τις γυναίκες ως θύματα. Σχετικά με την αμερικανική μελέτη για τη βία εναντίον των γυναικών

  1. Επειδή, ο παγκόσμιος οργανισμός υγείας αναφέρει ότι 2 φορές περισσότεροι άνδρες απ’ ότι γυναίκες πεθαίνουν από αιτίες που σχετίζονται με τη βία.(1)
  2. Επειδή, οι άνδρες είναι πάνω από 3 φορές πιο πιθανό από τις γυναίκες να πεθάνουν από τραυματισμούς από ένοπλες διαμάχες(armed conflict).( 1)
  3. Επειδή, 3,5 φορές περισσότεροι άνδρες απ’ ότι γυναίκες αυτοκτονούν παγκοσμίως.(1)
  4. Επειδή, σχεδόν σε κάθε χώρα παγκοσμίως, οι άνδρες ζουν λιγότερο από τις γυναίκες, προσεγγίζοντας μια διαφορά 13 χρόνων στη ρωσική ομοσπονδία (2)
  5. Επειδή, ένα σύνολο 195 επιστημονικών ερευνών για τη συζυγική βία καταλήγουν ότι «οι γυναίκες είναι φυσικά επιθετικές, ή περισσότερο επιθετικές, απ’ ότι οι άνδρες στις σχέσεις τους με τους συντρόφους τους».(3)
  6. Επειδή, σύμφωνα με μια καναδική στατιστική αναφορά, το 7% των γυναικών και το 6% των ανδρών αναφέρουν βία από έναν τωρινό ή πρώην σύντροφο κατά τα προηγούμενα 5 χρόνια.(4)
  7. Επειδή, σύμφωνα με μια πρόσφατη διεθνή μελέτη για τη βία σοβαρής μορφής ανάμεσα στα ζευγάρια, 55% ήταν αμοιβαία βία, 16% προερχόταν μόνο από τον άνδρα και 29% μόνο από τη γυναίκα. (5)
  8. Επειδή, ο πρόεδρος της αμερικανικής ψυχολογικής εταιρίας πρόσφατα ανέφερε ότι «πολλές μελέτες για την οικογενειακή βία καταλήγουν ότι άνδρες και γυναίκες στις σχέσεις τους έχουν ίση πιθανότητα να επιτεθούν σωματικά. (6)
  9. Επειδή, αναφορές από την Αφρική αποκαλύπτουν ότι η οικογενειακή βία εναντίον των ανδρών είναι εκτεταμένη αλλά οι άνδρες διστάζουν να αναφέρουν την κακοποίηση τους. (7-8)
ΚΑΙ
  1. Επειδή, τα Ηνωμένα Έθνη πρόσφατα αποκάλυψαν τη μελέτη “secretary-general’s” για τη βία εναντίον των γυναικών.
  2. Επειδή, η αναφορά αγνοεί το γεγονός ότι η μίση από τη συζυγική βία είναι αμοιβαία και συγκαλύπτει το πρόβλημα της ανδρικής θυματοποίησης εντελώς. (9)
  3. Επειδή, η αναφορά χρησιμοποιεί υποτιμητική για τους άνδρες και εξοργιστική γλώσσα όπως «πατριαρχικός» δημιουργώντας λανθασμένα στερεότυπα για τους άνδρες.
  4. Επειδή, ερευνητές από όλο τον κόσμο για την ηγετική οικογενειακή βία έχουν κατακρίνει την αναφορά για την εικόνα της οικογενειακής βίας, ότι δηλαδή είναι «προκατειλημμένη» και ότι επιβεβαιώνει «ότι και οι άνδρες και οι γυναίκες θα συνεχίσουν να θυματοποιούνται με αυτόν τον τρόπο». (10)
ΚΑΙ
  1. Επειδή, προγράμματα παρόμοια με αυτά που προτείνονται από την “secretary-general’s” αναφορά έχουν προκαλέσει ανεπιθύμητα αποτελέσματα στις γυναίκες. (11)
  2. Επειδή, η αναφορά αποτυγχάνει να απαιτήσει από άτομα που ισχυρίζονται οικογενειακή βία να παράσχουν αντικειμενικές αποδείξεις της κακοποίησης τους και οι λάθος ισχυρισμοί είναι γνωστό ότι έχουν αρνητικό αποτέλεσμα στα παιδιά. (12)
  3. Επειδή, η αναφορά επίσης απαιτεί για σκληρότερη εφαρμογή του νόμου και διώξεις, τα οποία έχουν αποδειχτεί ότι καταλήγουν σε εκτεταμένες παραβιάσεις από οφειλόμενες διαδικασίες προστασίας(of due process protections). (13)
  4. Επειδή, το αποτέλεσμα τέτοιων προγραμμάτων οικογενειακής βίας έχουν στόχο να αποδυναμώσουν τις οικογένειες, (bias divorce proceedings) και να στερήσουν τα παιδιά από την επαφή με τους πατέρες τους. (14)

Έτσι, οι παρακάτω οργανώσεις καλούν άμεσα την Τρίτη Επιτροπή να:

1.απλά «σημειώσει» (και όχι να «καλωσορίσει) την πρόσφατη “secretary-general’s” αναφορά.
2.αποθαρρύνει την εφαρμογή των συστάσεων της μελέτης για τη βία εναντίον των γυναικών μέχρι τα αποτελέσματα της στις οικογένειες και τα παιδιά αναλυθούν και κατανοηθούν.
3.ζητήσει η νέα “UN secretary-general ban ki-moon” να διεξάγει μια όμοια μελέτη για τη βία εναντίον των ανδρών.

RESOLUTION

Regarding the UN Study on Violence Against Women


  1. Whereas, the World Health Organization has reported that twice as many men die from violence-related causes as women,1
  2. Whereas, men are more than three-times more likely than women to die from injuries sustained from armed conflict,1
  3. Whereas, 3.5 times as many men commit suicide worldwide as women, 1
  4. Whereas, in almost every country around the world, men have shorter life expectancies than women, reaching a 13-year disparity in the Russian Federation,2
  5. Whereas, a compilation of 195 scientific studies of partner violence concludes, “women are as physically aggressive, or more aggressive, than men in their relationships with spouses or male partners,”3
  6. Whereas, according to a Statistics Canada report, 7% of women and 6% of men report violence by a current or previous partner in the previous five years.4
  7. Whereas, according to a recent international study of severe violence among dating couples, 55% was mutual violence, 16% was male-only, and 29% of violence was female-only.5
  8. Whereas, the president of the American Psychological Association has recently noted that “Several studies of domestic violence have suggested that males and females in relationships have an equal likelihood of acting out physical aggression,”6
  9. Whereas, reports from Africa reveal that domestic violence against men is widespread, but men are reluctant to report the abuses,7,8

And
  1. Whereas, the United Nations recently released the Secretary-General’s Study on Violence Against Women,
  2. Whereas, the report ignores the fact that half of all partner violence is mutual, and glosses over the problem of male victimization altogether, 9
  3. Whereas, the report uses misandrous and inflammatory language such as “patriarchal” in falsely stereotyping men,
  4. Whereas, leading family violence researchers around the world have criticized the report’s portrayal of domestic violence as being “biased” and ensuring “that both women and men will continue to be victimised in this way,”10

And
  1. Whereas, programs similar to those proposed by the Secretary-General’s report have caused undesirable outcomes for women,11
  2. Whereas, the report fails to require persons who allege domestic violence to provide objective evidence of abuse, and false allegations are known to result in harm to children,12
  3. Whereas, the report also calls for stronger law enforcement and prosecution efforts, which have been shown to result in widespread violations of due process protections,13
  4. Whereas, the result of such domestic violence programs has been to weaken families, bias divorce proceedings, and deprive children of contact from their fathers.14

Therefore, the undersigned organizations urgently call on the Third Committee to:

  1. Simply “Note” (but not “Welcome”) the recent Secretary-General’s report.
  2. Discourage implementation of the recommendations of the Study on Violence Against Women until its effects on families and children are analyzed and understood.
  3. Request incoming UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to undertake a counterpart Study on Violence against Men.
